Our facility accommodates family members of all ages. We have a shallower, warmer Learner Pool and a bigger Lane Pool for deep water confidence and greater distance.
Accessibility and inclusion at our swim school
Here at Glenfield Learn to Swim, we are beginning our journey towards a more inclusive centre. Whether you are looking for competitive or social water polo games, or just looking to improve your fitness in the water, we have an extensive range of programmes for everyone!
Water Polo at Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre
We are proud to be home to one of the longest-established, non-club affiliated water polo leagues.
Our experienced and supportive coaching team works with both beginner and more experienced intermediate school players, helping them build skills, confidence and game awareness in a fun, team-focused environment.
The Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre Water Polo League runs during the school term, with regular competition games and additional training sessions delivered by our centre to support player development.
Whether your child is new to the sport or looking to grow their experience, our programme provides a structured, inclusive pathway into water polo.
For more information or to register your interest, please email the Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre Water Polo team at glenfieldwaterpolo@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz.
Price:
$1073 per team, per term (includes weekly training slot and competition entry/game).
Social Water Polo
Throughout the sessions, all participants are divided into separate teams (the number of teams depends on the number of players but we most commonly have three teams) that play each other on a rotation. Once a team scores 3 points the game ends the next team in line shuffles in to play. All players in the social league have previously played Water Polo before, at some point in their life and because of this we highly recommend having some sort of familiarity with the sport for newcomers looking to join. The age of the participants will vary from session to session but will most commonly consist of older players.
For more information or to register your interest, please email the Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre Water Polo team at glenfieldwaterpolo@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz.
Day and time:
Thursdays, 8pm-9.30pm
Sundays, 9am-11am
Price:
Free for members or $9.60 for non-members.

Sessions focus on stroke development, interval training, and aerobic conditioning, with workouts tailored to suit a range of abilities. Our experienced coaches provide guidance and feedback to help you swim more efficiently while building strength and stamina.
Swim Fit is a great way to stay active, improve cardiovascular health and enjoy the benefits of swimming in a social, team-style setting.
You can attend 1, 2 or all 3 of the sessions.
