At Te Matariki Clendon, we're all about our local community. Our centre has everything you need to get active and have fun in your neighbourhood!
With a huge stadium, recreation programmes for children and adults alike, early childhood education and a dedicated Wharekai Youth Zone for young adults, you’ll have a blast every time you come and hang out.
We're literally joined to the Te Matariki Clendon Library which makes for even more things to do.
Recreation
Whether you want to play social sports, get your kids involved in activities such as gymnastics or friendly competitive sports leagues, or sign up to some of our dedicated programmes, you can do it with us.

At Clendon Kauri Kids, located within Te Matariki Clendon Community Centre and Library, we welcome and value diversity.
We have a massive outdoors area and an "open-door policy", which means that children can run around freely, be active and challenge themselves.

Hours
We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
We are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Numbers of children
We provide care for two age groups: children under two years and children over two. We can accommodate up to 50 children.
Teacher to child ratios
We have a minimum of one teacher for every four children under two years old, and a minimum of one teacher for every eight children over two years old.

Our prices
20 hours free early childhood educations is available for children aged under 2 years, additional hours will be charged at the hourly rate below.
20 hours free early childhood education is also available for children aged over 3 years, with a minimum of 2 days per week.
We also offer 30 hours free early childhood education for children aged over 3 years, for 6 hours per day/5 days per week, additional hours are charged at the hourly rate below.

About our programme for 5 to 13-year-olds
Leave your kids with us these school holidays and we'll keep them safe, happy and entertained.
Based out of Te Matariki Clendon Community Centre and Library, we cater for a wide range of interests with an ever-changing programme for 5 to 13-year-olds.
Our activities include plenty of opportunities to get active, brain teasers, interactive games, and arts and crafts, as well as quieter, library-focused activities*
*Some activities will be unavailable due to COVID restrictions.

The programme runs from 8am to 5pm.
Before programme care is available from 7am to 8am. After programme care is available from 5pm to 6pm.

Our prices
Our activities range in price from $27.80 per day, depending on the what we do each day.
You may be eligible for a WINZ Holiday Programme Subsidy. Visit the WINZ website for more information.

Breakaway programme for 11 to 18-year-olds
Breakaway is a free holiday programme for youth aged 11-18 years, funded by the Ministry of Social Development.
The programme runs for six hours a day. We do activities* like team building, swimming, sports competitions, shared lunches and mystery trips.
*Some activities are not available due to COVID restrictions.
COVID-19 information
- Our Breakaway holiday programme can operate in the Red Level under the Covid Protection Framework (traffic light system).
- Participants 12 years and over must wear a face covering unless eating, playing sports or swimming.
- If you’re feeling unwell, please stay home!
- For any signs of cold or flu, please get a COVID test.

We love hosting sports events that get our community active, but our spaces also suit:

Please note that alcohol may not be consumed on these premises.
