The Karanga Plaza Tidal Steps, in the Viaduct Basin, is home to the Karanga Harbour Pool and jumping platform.
The area is enclosed by pontoons, to protect swimmers and provide a visual and physical barrier for boats operating in the viaduct channel.
Free to use, the facilities include four 33 metre swimming lanes, with lane ropes and ladders for access and a jumping platform with balustrades and a grab rail for easy exit from the water.
Changing facilities including toilets and cold water showers are available at the nearby Karanga Plaza.

Centre hours
Open daily during daylight hours - from dawn to dusk.
Lifeguard supervision over the summer peak season (20 December 2024 to 7 February 2025) 10am to 6pm.
Christmas and New Year hours:
24 December - lifeguards on duty 10am to 1pm
25/26 December - no lifeguards on duty
27 December onwards - lifeguards on duty 10am to 6pm
