Glenfield centre updates

Upcoming closures for annual maintenance - UPDATED RE-OPENING DATES

Our aquatics area reopening has been rescheduled to Monday 29 June. While this is a short extension to the current closure, it allows us to make the most of the pool being drained by completing additional maintenance and upgrade work, including:
  • Repainting and colour refresh of the pool hall
  • Dive tower and repaint using scaffolding access
  • Additional bulkhead maintenance
  • Some tiling improvements
Undertaking this work now helps reduce the need for future closures and ensures a better experience for our community when we reopen.

Check out the new key dates and details below so you can plan ahead!

Aquatics area: Wednesday 10 June to Sunday 28 June 2026 (reopening Monday 29 June)

The entire aquatics area, including all pools and swim plus zones (spa, sauna, steam room) will be closed, for the following maintenance and upgrades:

  • General routine maintenance including -
    • Pool and plant maintenance
    • Poolside window replacement 
    • Bleachers repaired and tidied up 
    • Painting and touch-ups

Fitness Gym: Thursday 18 June from 8am to 5pm 

The Fitness Gym will be closed during this time for a deep clean, including the changing rooms. You are welcome to use the gym before 8am or after 5pm. If that doesn't fit with your schedule, feel free to visit our centres in Birkenhead, Takapuna or Albany while the gym is closed.

Members - just check in with the team at reception when you arrive.

Fitness and Studio 2 Changing Rooms: Thursday 18 June from 11.30am to 5pm

Group Fitness classes will be scheduled as normal, with the exception of Aqua classes (these will not run from 10 June to 24 June while the pools are closed).

 

What about my membership/10-visit pass?

  • Get into It members you can visit any of the centres listed below*. If you're not able to visit another pool or gym, you can suspend your membership online via myLEISURE - see below for more information on how to do this.
  • Swim It members you can visit any of the pools listed below*.  If you're not able to visit another pool, you can suspend your membership online via myLEISURE - see below for more information on how to do this.
  • 10-visit passholders aqua group fitness will be suspended from 10 June to 24 June. If you would like to attend an aqua class at another centre, please check in with reception at either Takapuna, Albany or Stanmore Bay (unfortunately, you will not be able to book into a class via myLEISURE). All Swim and Swim Plus passholders will be able to visit any of the pools listed below*.

Learn to Swim customers

All classes will be paused from 10 June and spaces will be held during the closure. No payments will be deducted for customers who pay weekly. If your payment schedule is fortnightly, you may be charged during the closure, but you will be credited the following fortnight.

Lessons will resume as normal at the start of Term 3 (Monday, 20 July).

Water Polo

Water Polo training and games will be paused and resume at the start of Term 3 (Monday, 20 July).
