Upcoming closures for annual maintenance
It's that time of year again - we've got some areas closed for maintenance coming up - check out the key dates and details below so you can plan ahead!
Aquatics area: Monday 18 May to Sunday 31 May 2026 (reopening Monday 1 June - King's Birthday)
The entire aquatics area, including all pools will be closed, for the following maintenance and upgrades:
- General routine maintenance on both pools including -
- Pool plant maintenance and pump servicing
- Draining of pools and tile replacements, with new tiling around the small pool
- Relining.
Rock Wall: Monday 18 May to Sunday 31 May 2026 (reopening Monday 1 June - King's Birthday)
The Rock Wall areas will be closed for replacement of the skylights with new clearlight, bringing much more light into the area.
Entire Centre Closure: Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026 (reopening Monday 1 June - King's Birthday)
The entire centre, including all pools, gym, rockwall will be closed, for the following maintenance and upgrades:
- High clean
- Deep clean of high-use areas - vinyl flooring and carpets, etc
- Repair of flooring, paint touch-ups and general maintenance.
What about my membership/10-visit pass?
- Get into It members you can visit any of the centres listed below*. If you're not able to visit another pool or gym, you can suspend your membership online via myLEISURE - see below for more information on how to do this.
- Swim It, Gym It and Move It members you can visit any of the gyms or pools listed below* (Move It members please note you will be unable to book group fitness classes at another centre). If you're not able to visit another pool or gym, you can suspend your membership online via myLEISURE - see below for more information on how to do this.
- Climb It members your membership will be suspended from 18 to 31 May.
- 10-visit passholders (swim, gym, group fitness and climbing) will be suspended from 18 to 31 May.
Learn to Swim customers
All classes will be paused and spaces held during the closure. No payments will be deducted for customers who pay weekly. If your payment schedule is fortnightly, you may be charged during the closure, but will be credited the following fortnight.
Lessons will resume as normal from Tuesday 2 June (Monday 1 June is a public holiday for King's Birthday).
*Members can use the following Auckland Council owned and operated centres:
- Albany Stadium Pool (pool and gym)
- East Coast Bays Leisure Centre - Browns Bay (gym only)
- Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre (pool and gym)
- Takapuna Pool and Leisure Centre (pool and gym)
