Pickleball
Pickle what?
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport you've never heard of.
Invented in 1965 as a children's backyard game, it’s a hybrid of tennis, table tennis and badminton, played using a paddle and a wiffle ball.
Game, set and match
Played on a badminton-sized court with a net that's about two inches shorter than a tennis net, the aim of the game is whack the ball over the net in such a way that your opponent makes a mistake.
Fun for all ages
It’s a great game for seniors because it uses a smaller court and underhand serves (which are easier on the shoulder) — however it can be played by anyone from 8 to 80 years old.
The long and short of it
And because games are typically only 15-minutes long, you can get in as much or as little exercise as you want. There's heaps of strategy that goes into playing and you can make it as physically strenuous as you like.
