Our fitness centres offer a range of specialist in-house classes, as well as a selection of Les Mills™ programmes in some centres. Each class is instructed by fully qualified professionals who will motivate, encourage and push you to be your best!

All our group fitness classes are designed to be fun and provide for a range of abilities and fitness levels – so no matter what your body type, fitness or coordination, there’s a class to suit you.

Les Mills classes

BODYCOMBAT™ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful instructors, you’ll strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.

BODYATTACK™ is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. Combining athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises, this high-energy interval-training class features 11 tracks and two cardio peaks. Whether you’re the weekend athlete or the hardcore competitor, the dynamic instructors and powerful music will motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.

RPM™ is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. You’ll enjoy the calorie-killing benefits of interval training as you take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials and interval training. Discover your athlete within – sweat and burn to reach your endorphin high.

BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that strengthens and tones your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Ten tracks of great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!

BODYSTEP™ is the energising step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step, you get huge motivation from sing-along music and approachable instructors. The 12 tracks are made up of cardio blocks that push fat-burning systems into high gear followed by muscle-conditioning tracks that shape and tone your body.

BODYBALANCE™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and features 10 minutes of relaxation and meditation to leave you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

BODYJAM™ is the cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. Fusing together the latest dance styles with the hottest new sounds, the emphasis is as much on having fun as on breaking a sweat. The choreography is designed around repetitions so it doesn’t take long to pick up, and the funky instructors will teach you to move with attitude through this class. So grab a friend, get front and centre, and get high on the feeling of dance.

CXWORX™ is the revolutionary way to train your core. Based on cutting-edge scientific research, each 30-minute CXWORX™ class will challenge you to strengthen and tone all the muscle groups in your core. Whether you’re training for general health or an elite athlete wanting an edge, CXWORX™ is the perfect addition to your exercise programme – it will leave you looking good and feeling strong.

SH’BAM™ is the ultimate fun and sociable way to exercise. BODYVIVE™ is the low-impact, flexible-intensity whole-body workout that uses VIVE™ balls, VIVE™ tubes and body weight to boost fitness and core strength. Inspirational instructors and music will motivate you through the 12 tracks of cardio and resistance exercises and you’ll be left fizzing with energy, so you can really take life on!

PILATES
Focus on your core with the core principles of Pilates! The eight principles of the Pilates technique – concentration, breath, centering, control, precision, movement, isolation and routine – are brought together to give you a low-impact workout that strengthens like nothing else.

YOGA
Yoga your mind and yoga your body. This workout can range from gentle and slow-moving to dynamic, but it always tones, shapes and centres the mind without impact or stress.

IYENGAR YOGA
Emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the practice of posture and breath control.

GENTLE YOGA
Iyengar Yoga class, particularly suitable for beginners and seniors.

VINYASA FLOW
A dynamic sequencing of poses integrated with the breath. A flowing practice creating heat in the body; each class is themed, unique and fun.

YIN YOGA
A quiet and meditative practice with music featuring long held floor poses to nourish connective tissue, joints and improve flexibility.

STRENGTH
This fun and dynamic workout is designed to transform your body into a lean, mean, ultra-fit machine. Using a mix of body weight, adjustable barbells and steps this class will increase your strength and define your body!

SUSPENSION
Get lean and toned muscles in this low-impact resistance class as you squat, press and lift your way to superior fitness. This class delivers a fast, effective total-body workout which helps build a rock-solid core, jealousy-inducing arms and defined buns of steel. Based purely around body weight and a TRX™, it is designed to help muscular endurance, aid with injury rehabilitation and burn unnecessary fat from vital areas – but it will still leave you smiling.

BOXERCISE
This contact boxing class gives you a super-intense workout on the pads, with killer ab exercises to help build upper body strength and stamina. It’s a great way to get rid of frustration and instructors are always on hand to help with technique!

CIRCUIT
This energetic, fun workout is designed to help you tone up, increase strength and boost your cardio fitness. It is a dynamic, free-flowing class that is measured on a rep/time limit basis, making it suitable for all ages and abilities due to its inbuilt flexibility.

HI/LOW IMPACT
No matter your ability, Hi/Low Impact is for you! Designed for all levels, this aerobics class burns calories and helps tone – whether you crank the intensity high or keep it low is up to you!

X55
This high-intensity workout is the fun way to get fit! Simple yet effective routines use step boxes and hand weights to tone muscle, burn calories and get you fitter, faster.

OXYCORE
Work your core and invoke your calm. Based on Pilates and physiotherapy principles, Oxycore focuses on core strength, postural control, stretching, toning, balance and coordination for your whole body.

POWER
Power up with Power – a total body conditioning workout that uses dumbbells, barbells and your own body weight for a highly effective resistance workout. You control the intensity, you control the workout – you’ve got the power!

ZUMBA
A dance sensation! This high-energy class combines Latin rhythm with easy-to-follow moves to deliver a one-of-a-kind fitness programme. With dancing like this, you won’t even realise you’re working out!

Aqua group fitness classes

Shape up and get fit with a low-impact aqua group fitness class! Aqua group fitness classes provide a a range of intensities and are fantastic fun. They’re also highly effective, using the natural resistance provided by the water to really give you a great workout. Our classes are designed to suit all ages, levels and abilities.

AQUA SHALLOW
Get in the pool and get fit with Aqua Shallow! Held in the shallow end of the pool, this class uses equipment, controlled movements and the natural resistance of the water to help you tone up and work out.

AQUA DEEP
Jump in the deep end! Aqua Deep is held in a deep pool, using buoyancy belts to give you a weightless workout that strengthens and conditions while being gentle on the joints.

HYDROTHERAPY
Hydrotherapy classes are low impact classes that help to increase mobility, strength and flexibility. Specifically designed for those who suffer from arthritis, joint and circulation problems or have limited mobility, hydrotherapy classes are held in West Wave’s warm, private hydrotherapy pool. Please note that classes must be booked in advance.

AQUAWORKS™ SHALLOW
Your feet may be grounded but your spirit will soar as you challenge yourself to a total body workout, with great music, great variety and a great atmosphere to motivate you. You control the intensity of your workout.

Senior group fitness classes

Specially designed for seniors, these group fitness classes give you a highly effective way to work out that’s designed to be gentle on your body, while still giving you the results you’re after. Improve your flexibility, mobility, cardio health and stamina in a fun, social environment with your peers.

ACTIVSENIOR
Get active with ActivSenior! This socially active club plans and organises subsidised outings for people 65 years and over, as well as holding group fitness classes specifically designed for senior members.

SENIOR MOVEMENT
Enjoy a low-impact, gentle mobility class that works your whole body. Senior Movement is ideal for seniors of all levels and abilities, including those recovering from injury.

ACTIVSENIOR AQUA GROUP FITNESS
Aqua fitness classes tailor-made with active seniors in mind, ActivSenior Aqua Group Fitness is a fantastically fun way to keep you fit and mobile.

ACTIVSENIOR AQUA AND SENIOR MOVEMENT
Get the best of both worlds! Start with a 30 minute Aqua Group Fitness class, then move onto a 45 minute land-based Senior Movement class. It’s up to you whether you do both classes or choose just one.

ACTIVSENIOR PILATES
This Pilates class incorporates all the standard Pilates principles, but is designed to be gentle on the senior body. Work on your core strength, posture and mobility with the support of our trained instructors.

This exciting programme for mature adults is a very successful gym-based programme developed by AUT. The class focus is on resistance, light cardio work, flexibility and balance.
